Lab seasons allow the public to have direct experience of research and to be exposed to the science that is usually hidden away in remote laboratories, allowing them to become experimental subjects. Researchers are based at Science Gallery during these seasons.
These shows often feature up to 15 real research experiments that are identified through university links, which are accompanied by limited installation or visual work to deepen public engagement with the theme and enhance their audience experience of the season.
The typical duration of a lab show is 7-9 weeks, while lead time for development is 9-12 months.
