Erica holds a degree in Biology - with a specialization in Oceanography - at the University of Padua and a Master’s Degree in Science Communication at SISSA (International School for Advanced Studies, Trieste). She has worked as cultural mediator for UNESCO and as freelance science writer for more than 15 years for national and international online and print scientific and pop-sci media, for Italian scientific publishing houses and as communications manager in public national bodies such as the Italian National Institutes of Health and the Ministry of Health. Erica is a member of SWIM - the Italian association of science writers - for which she is also website content manager. She has been collaborating with Ca’ Foscari University since 2016 and is part of Science Gallery Venice ever since its beginning. Erica has written 15 short science stories for young children translated in multiple languages at Tiny Readers publishing. She is a soprano singer in a 200 voice choir and loves to dance Tango.
